 sweven • vision seen in sleep; a dream Sweven, Montana. It was once a quiet, unassuming little town, but in the early 1920’s the Daniels family started turning it into a booming business town. Now the fourth largest city in the USA, Sweven is a bit of a tourist hotspot. People come for the skyscrapers and novelty stores and, if they know the right people, the rumors of a blackness that’s been visiting every few years since the early 90s and seems to be coming around more and more often as the years go by. This is where you find yourself waking up one morning, surrounded by the stark white of a hospital and with a new tattoo on your wrist. A sharply dressed woman sits next to your bed and gives you an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry,” she says, “But you’re not where you’re supposed to be, and we’re not sure how to get you home.” She tells you that you’ve been transported to another dimension, that no one’s sure how it happens, but Nilisom Technologies is working with the Migrants and the US government to find a way back. She gives you a welcome packet with information on Nilisom, the city, and a hotel key. “You’re welcome to go wherever you like, of course. You won’t be able to leave the country without a passport, and you’ll likely need to come back here once we find a way to send you back home. But we don’t want you to feel like you don’t have options here. Once again, I apologize for the trouble.
